16th anniversary 10th Feb 2013

Bismillah...

Sunday..we celebrated our 16th anniversary...hubby bought this small chocolate box to me..hahaha..when I asked him,  why he bought this as it tastes so sweet..he said: "this chocolate reminds me of you, it was in year 1997 when I first ate this, a friend gave me after her trip to London..and at that time you have just come into my life (at that time, I was just finished my study and came to KL to be with my hubby). So each time I saw this box, I think of you..hence today let just finish all in this box by ourselves (but we cannot finished them..so we brought them home)".

This year I did not plan anything great as compared to my previous years..no cake, no dating..just spending the day with the family like our usual weekend outing. I have started the day with frying banana fritters...(dah lama mengidam..yet the bananas were so expensive , and the taste was not as the one in Malaysia..tapi sebab mengidam, I bought a kilo the day before). Later, we sent my eldest to meet up with his friend at Chadstone shopping complex then heading to ceramah Tafsir and back to Chadstone for lunch...didnot enjoy much the lunch as we were rushing to get home before 3pm because later in the afternoon, my eldest has a soccer game..The game was in Knox city, 45 minutes drive from our place , and kick off started at 7pm, yet the warming up session started at 5pm. Hence they have to go by 4pm..and they were only back at 10pm..and that was the end of my anniversary day!..what a bland celebration....

Yet, what touched me is the excitement of our children in remembering the date..
Afeeq texted us..wishing happy anniversary and Aaisyah kept wanting to buy me a flower bouquet since yesterday...While at lunch, Hazeeq asked his dad, what were you doing at this time, 16 years ago?...both of us, reflected back the moments that we got married..it was 10th Feb 1997, the second day of Eid Fitri..I was still a medical student in my final year and Rudie has just started his career at TM. I wasn't in the mosque for the akad nikah ( I was actually late ..at that time, i did not have any makeup artist for my special day..the one who did it for me was my sister..hahaha..so the "professional" make up artist took a bit longer time to get me ready for the event)..I asked my dad whether I have to go too (since I wasn't ready in time), my dad said, it is ok for the bride to stay home and just want for the rombongan..so my dad went by himself to the mosque accompanied by my saksi,my uncles, neighbours and brother..The mosque (Masjid Wakaf Stan) is in the inner village (we live at the "taman perumahan" ..near the main road..). I didn't know what is happening there..
Actually and ideally..I have to be there..to be asked whether I want to get married or not and to listen the "lafaz taklik" read by my hubby..Oh now, I regretted to have missed that moment.
And my hubby told me that when the Imam asked whereabout the bride, and whether I was willing to be married with my hubby, my late dad bluntly said: She is the one who asked me to marry her with this guy..if not I wouldn't be here"..the whole mosque laughed with his joke...according to my hubby, he was so nervous and he has to akad for 3 times..(again missed this)..Alhamdullilah..we were officially married on 10th Feb 1997.

16 years together..the journey is not easy..up and down, broken and sealed, laugh and joys, sad and sorrow..the winding journey..yet alhamdulillah..we are here today..appreciating all the moments together and we are looking forward for the future..May Allah bless our marriage, our relationship and family..please grant us Your mercy in our life..today, tomorrow and forever.
